Uncured Intermediate Rubber is an uncured bonding rubber sheet used inside hot-vulcanized conveyor belt splices. It is also commonly referred to as tie gum or uncured skim rubber, depending on the belt construction and industry term.

It is applied between prepared belt layers or reinforcement components to provide internal bonding, rubber continuity and load transfer after vulcanization. We supply intermediate rubber for both fabric and steel cord conveyor belts in different sizes and rubber grades

Description

Uncured intermediate rubber is a key unvulcanized rubber material used in hot conveyor belt splicing. During splice preparation, the rubber sheet is placed in the internal splice structure according to the belt construction and approved splice design.

Under heat and pressure, the intermediate rubber vulcanizes together with the prepared belt rubber, reinforcement layers and other compatible splicing materials to form an integrated and flexible splice. It is also known as tie gum or uncured skim rubber.

Use for Fabric and Steel Cord Conveyor Belts

In fabric conveyor belt splicing, uncured intermediate rubber—also referred to as uncured skim rubber—is used between prepared fabric plies or splice steps to restore the internal rubber layer and provide bonding after vulcanization

In steel cord conveyor belt splicing, uncured intermediate rubber may also be referred to as tie gum. It is used within the splice structure to bond prepared steel cord and rubber areas and to help transfer load through the vulcanized splice.
